how do you recover your twitter account if you forgot your username and password?

i'm assuming you remember your email or you have a mobile phone number associated with the account.

You should be able to reset your password from this page:

How to send yourself a password reset via email:

1. From the sign in page on either twitter.com, mobile.twitter.com, Twitter for Android or Twitter for iPhone, select the Forgot password? link or click here:

2. Enter your email address or Twitter username.
3. Check your email inbox. Twitter will immediately send a message to your account's email address.
4. Click the reset link in that email.
5. Choose a new password.

How to send yourself a password reset via SMS:

If you've added your mobile number to your account in your Mobile settings, you may receive a password reset via SMS/text message.

1. From the Forgot password? page:

and enter your mobile number or Twitter username.
2. Select Reset via phone, if prompted.
3. Twitter will text you a six digit code that is valid for 15 minutes.
4. Enter this code on the web.
5. You will then be prompted to choose a new password.
