Help with iphone and iPad mini?

Right I have Facebook on my phone and it works well ... It makes a sound and notifys me when I get a like or comment on my lock screen I have just got a iPad mini and connected Facebook to it now I have a number 1 next to the Facebook app on my phone but it doesn't notify me or show up in my lock screen I don't understand why ?? I have taken the Facebook app off my iPad and now I still can't here a sound or see it ...it doesn't do any thing but show a number 1 what's happened and how can I get it back I have switched my phone off and on again 3 times and doesn't make a difference I have also looked at my sound settings and they are all up high I'm really upset

Go into settings then notifications and see if sound alerts are on

You might need to go to your notifications centre and check the banner settings and if sounds are activated on it, that's all I can suggest.
