I need help from a computer expert PLEASE.?
K, I know I shouldn't have, i'm so so sorry, but I went on omegle, found some "girl" who wanted to get naked with me on skype, and i'm soooo stupid, "she" asked to see my fb, so she could determine if I was 17 or not. after we skyped, she recorded it, and is threatening to send it to all my friends if I dont give him $200. Please help, oh god i'm so scared, I don't know what to do. I can't ask my family, friends, nobody. I'm not even sure if he can send it. Please help me oh god. Please.
Just to make sure, HE DOES NOT HAVE MY FB PASSWORD. he is telling me he is going to send it to MY contacts through HIS facebook. is this possible??? Ads |

If you give into this blackmail, my friend, it will NOT stop at $200. He/she/they will keep coming back to you for more.
I appreciate you feel upset/anxious about this, but even if you did pay what they were asking they still might post it online. Don't give in to them, my young friend. Just accept that you did something foolish and accept that you'll learn from it. i.e. that you won't do it again. Ads |

As long as she doesn't have your password you should be fine but if you did give it to her change it immediately but if they do get your password again there's nothing really that you can do, you're screwed pretty much.

Are you married? Then why would you be afraid?
I know you're under stress, but just try to put this into proportions. Don't pay him at all. You can get the police evolved without talking with your parents. |

You're only course of action is to contact the FBi or your local police department.
If this dude is preying on people like you say he's violating quite a few crimes actually. They'll go smack him around, but you mentioned the whole 17 year old thing so they may want to talk to your folks. Anyways the alternative is to keep being scared he's gonna show the world your nakey video amigo. Just because you pay a d*ck head $200 doesn't mean he's not gonna stop asking for money and it sure doesn't mean he's not gonna send hte video out anyways. Don't get naked on cam, ever dude. No matter what, you don't wanna do it. Well unless you don't care about dudes like that sending all of your FB buddies something like this. There's no hack, no nothing you can do at this point from a computer side. You'd have to learn about a billion different things in a very little amount of time to even possibly have a chance at getting that video wiped off of his machine. |

Well, Ian, now you know why it's not such a good idea to chat with strangers. You never know what's going to happen.
First, I need to ask you something: if you were Skyping, how did you not know that this "she" was a "he"? Was the naked Skyping all on your part? Now, obviously, it would add to the stupidity to send money to this guy/chick. Another answerer pointed out that it will not stop at the $200. Yes, it's entirely possible that he/she can send this recorded call to your friends and family from his computer, but if you have your profile set to private, he/she shouldn't be able to see your contacts. Unless, of course, he/she took a screen shot of your FB page when you showed him/her. I know this doesn't help you to feel any better about it, but this is the reality of it. Now you have to live with your poor decision. If your privacy settings aren't at the highest level of security, do it immediately. Now, what you can do is go to the police department and talk to a detective. Find out what your options are concerning the blackmail and cyber threats. If this person is out of state or out of the country, you may be advised to get the FBI involved since it would be no longer a local offense. I hope you learned your lesson and stay off these "chat with strangers" sites from now on. |
