Facebook restrictions. Help!?
So, right now I'm in China with my parents, and China doesn't let you access Facebook or Youtube. Because of my parents' positions, they both have VPNs, and they refuse to let me get one (with my own money) or let me use theirs for 10 minutes a day.
Because this was my main communication terminal for friends and such, I am suffering from major loneliness syndrome.

If you A. know any way around Facebook blocks without a VPN or B, if you have any advice as to how to persuade my parents to let me contact people, Please let me know!

Facebook is banned in China, so there is no way to access it.

you can try going on a proxy. there are many you can find on the web but be careful. you don't want a strict goverment on your ass. you should have downloded a proxy before you got there for like 10 bucks a month but what's done is done. proxy sites are your only solution though they can be really really slow.

China isn't called the great fire wall for nothing. :/ i'm sorry, there is really no other way around it. use skype or tumblr. I know it's not blocked there yet. Smile good luck in china.

p.s. try getting some information from the locals like the younger generation and see if they know a way around it. you got to work on your Chinese skills if you haven't already though :/.
