relationship status question?

I know when you get into a relationship, on facebook it'll show that for everyone to see. does it go away after you break up? i looked through my old posts and my ex's old posts and i don't see where it said we were in a relationship anymore.

I'm pretty sure it automatically deletes the post that said you guys were in a relationship because mine has done that too.
