If I deactivate my facebook account will messages still send from it?

My facebook account is sending random links to people on my friends list. I have tried stopping this but it has happened again. So I have decided to deactivate my facebook account as its irritating me and my friends. I am just wondering although I have deactivated my account will these messages still send?
I do not think its one of my friends because I have changed passwords. I think its a virus i downloaded an app and since then its just sent random links to friends.

No. It will be totally deactivated and you can still log-in anytime u want by simply logging in.

Deactivating accounts in facebook means your account becomes temporarily down until you re-login later... So, I'm pretty sure your automatic message sending will be stopped(until you re-login later).

Your account cannot by itself send messages. Someone else probably has access to your account.
If you deactivate it, it will be automatically reactivated if anyone attempts to log in, so if someone else is accessing it, that that will not do you much good. Although, it could prove without a doubt that someone is indeed messing with it if your friends still receive messages after you deactivate it

Once you deactivate your account, people will no longer interact with you until your log back in. Those messages will no longer be sent. You should try reporting it to facebook.
