If someone could help me with Instagram?

So I'm pretty new to Instagram, I just downloaded the app on my Nexus 7. And I'm trying to change my profile picture, but I can't. I followed the instructions that were provided on the site but whenever I try, my picture doesn't change at all. ): I thought that maybe it just didn't show up on my device so I asked a friend if they could see my profile picture, but they can't either. Is there a way I can fix this?

1) Click on profile pic, or where it is suppose to be (upper left corner.)
2) Click on choose from library, or whatever source you want your pic from.
3) Click the pic you want for the profile
4) Pic area will still be blank. Click on edit your profile
5) Click submit
