Can I prevent some posts on my Facebook newsfeed without unfriending?

Is it possible to hide some peoples posts from your Facebook news feed without actually unfriending or blocking them?
I have a friend whose posts really bug me as they also flood my news feed. However if I were to unfriend them this would prob cause a situation I'd rather do without. iPhone have an option to hide all from user what I have clicked on loads but it just seems to hide that one post

yes it is possible, next time when their post comes in your feed, then just hover to the corner of the post and there you will find couple of option, one of the option says"don'd show in the newsfeed" or something like that, and after whatever they post it won't be displayed in your wall.

yes , sure you can ...
there is an downside arrow on the top left of the post ... click on it and chose i don't to see this
then there is an option .. hide all post from this person ...
and no post will appear again without removing him blocked him
and he will not know about this

It should be that you have subscribed to them, simply unsubscribe and you wont get their updates on news feed anymore

1. either go to their profile page

2. click on the "Friends" with the tick and click on Unsubscribe from "whatever the person's name is"

or

1. click on the down arrow on one of their news feeds

2. click on Unsubscribe from "whatever the person's name is"

If you don't want to see the updates from a friend in your Newsfeed, go to his Timeline ➤ click Friends ➤ untick Show in Newsfeed.

Go to the person's timeline and right click, you will see option to "don't show in newsfeed". or you can limit what you want to see from this person in the options.
