how do I limit non-friends' view of my profile on facebook?

I just want to make it so that people can find my page, but they have to friend me in order to see what is on it. My GF tells me that anyone, any stranger, can see everything about me on my page. I don't want that at all. I want to be able to be found, but they have to be my friend to see posts and personal stuff.

I just can't figure out how to do this...seems like something everyone would want to do.

PS: if you tell me to google it or check fb help, I will flag your post as spam and you will lose more points than you got for answering. I can't stand when people cheat to get points, and obviously I already looked in those two places.

1. Privacy Settings
2. Click on "Who can see my stuff"
3. Click on "who can see your future posts"
4. Change public to friends
5. save the settings
