how long would it take twitter to send you an email about someone following you?

basically I accidentally followed someone. Unfollowed them straight away. Yes they are someone I know, and I don't like them. I was trying to block them on my phone but the screen froze or something and I accidentally pressed follow.

I heard it takes some time for twitter to send the email notifications for when someone follows you. How long is it?

I've tested this on one of my other accounts (by following my current account) and over half an hour and still no email notification

It shouldn't take very long. Only a couple of hours really.
But remember that people can turn off email notifications, so this person may never actually be notified that you followed them at all.

It's more or less instant, even if you unfollowed they will still get the email. It depends on whether they have notifications on or off. If they dont have many followers (under 500 let's say) they probably have notifications on. Only the people who get tons of new followers bother turning that off.

But why worry?
