How to say "I'm Sad/upset" on Facebook without looking like an attention seeker?
Okay, so I don't normally do this as I don't like to attention seek. I only want to say it because I want my actual friends to know I'm sad and maybe offer to come and hang out and cheer me up (I do actually need cheering up btw). I don't want to ask them because I don't want to bother them in case they are too busy. You know, I kinda want them to offer.

I don't want to post anything such as "I hate my life" or anything too personal.

How can I say "I'm sad/upset" in a status without sounding like a complete attention seeker... And yes I do realize that what I am basically saying is 'how can I attention seek without looking like an attention seeker' Wink
Smart a** Alexander... I don't have access to a phone right now. My mobile isn't working and my house phone isn't working. Do you not think I already thought of asking them directly? I didn;t want to ask directly that's the whole point.. Duhh! Like I said I wanted them to offer.. I did post something and yes they did see it and they have offered to come and see me tomorrow. Thanks for the advice but no thanks Smile

That's what Facebook is about these days, attention seeking.

Why do you need to broadcast to the world that you are sad or upset? No matter what, you will look like you are just looking for attention if you post this. Even if you post it, there is no guarantee that your friends will see it. Some people don't look at every status that their friends post.

If these are your real friends, call them! Tell them that you really need some cheering up and ask if they are available to do something with you. You can't expect them to guess at how you're feeling or that you would like to be cheered up. How will they know what you need unless you tell them? Personally, there are times when I'm sad and upset that I just want to be left alone. Other times, I need to be around people. I don't expect my friends to know on their own what I need on any particular day.

Forget the public pity party...make some calls.
