If i delete an icloud account.....?

if I delete the icloud account from my phone will I lose all of my stuff? Im trying to make a separate i cloud account from my mom for my phone. Will I lose anything from my phone? Will my mom? I have her contacts on my phone, too. I just want it to be separate.

you will lose anything on your phone that is associated with that account, mail, contacts, photostream, etc.. but what you can do is back up your phone with your iTunes on your computer then restore from that once you make your own account. what i would do is Back up the phone to your computer, then reset the phone and create your own apple ID with iCloud when you go thru the set up process, then restore it because I do not know if you can change the iCloud account from your phone, there id only an option to delete the account
