Am I only suppose to tweet about trending topics on twitter?

Yes I am new but do I just tweet about trending topics. I do want followers and know how to make tweets sound interesting. Is this what Im supposed to do; if not what do I do? I dont know what else to tweet about..

It doesn't really matter what it's about, just don't post about inappropriate stuff.

No you can literally tweet about anything you want. If you want to join i a conversation you can hashtag a certain word or phrase so other people can see what you said under a certain topic. You dont even have to join a conversation, you can just tweet whatever you want like "really tired going to bed, goodnight" or something of that matter. Tweet whatever you'd like!

Hahaha alright, let me give you some hints when it comes to the twitter world.

DO:
-Tweet about what's trending, it's trending for a reason.
-Tweet funny quotes, anything funny -people love it
-Tweet TO people, whether it be conversation, or just saying hey -people like it.
-Tweet life, love, any genuinely good quote in general is always good
-Tweet about YOU whether it be interesting things about your day, your favorite movie, etc.

DON'T:
-Tweet depressing, dramatic, or repetitive tweets, people can't stand it -usually people make a twitter to get away from all the drama so DON'T do it.
-Tweet about things such as "just walking down the stairs" -you'll lose followers FAST.
-Be afraid to tweet about anything, (other than the things listed above) the upside to twitter is the fact that you can update a lot more than you would on Facebook. People are expecting your activity. As long as you follow the "Do's" and avoid the "Don't's" you'll have a great time on Twitter AND you'll have followers(:

You can tweet whatever you desire. I tweet whatever comes to mind really. Random stuff like song lyrics, what im hungry for, anything special im doing for the day etc its your account no one is gonna tell you what you can and cannot tweet there is not a twitter cop unless you tweet too much then your account s suspended for a lil bit. But yeah make your tweets stand out so people will want to follow you more.
