How can I hide the comments on the photo on facebook but not the actual photo?

A friend of mine has added a photo of me and her which I like but has written an unsavoury comment on it! Is there any way I can delete the comment on her photo but still keep the photo on? Maybe even make it my profile picture without the comments coming across to?

If you choose to make it your profile photo the comments shouldn't come up. You could save the photo to your computer and then upload it as a profile photo like it's just brand new!

As for the comment on the existing post by your friend, sometimes if you hover over the specific comment there will be a "x" in the right corner giving you the option to hide it.
