How to disconnect Facebook with Instagram?

My dad recently got Instagram and I would like to disconnect my Facebook with it so he can't find me. I googled some things on how to do so, I went to my account settings on Facebook and deleted Instagram on there but when I go to my "news" on Instagram, it still says "Your Facebook friend ____ just joined Instagram"
Is is it really disconnected from Facebook or no?

I have the exact same problem. I've also tried removing the instagram app off Facebook and seeing whether any more "unknown fb friends" would appear on my news. Sadly, the problem still continues. Let's hope someone knows a way to fix this.
