Why do a lot of people add me on facebook then delete me?

I honestly don't care, but I'm just curious. It's been a trend these days, people I know (relatives or acquaintances) add me, I accept their friend request then weeks later or something they de-friend me. Why add me in the first place?

And no, I don't post any religious, political, sensitive issues at all and I respond to anyone who writes to me. So what gives?
