What do you think of this new trend in society?
Where people post pictures on twitter of the food they've eaten and the clothes they bought and places they shopped and cars they drive? I don't really like it, but would like others opinions. I mean, if you were someplace thats exciting, why not, but some of my friends would take a picture of starbucks coffe and post it up there...or food they ate at any restaurant. I think that is a bit extreme...and why even waste time doing it? Is it a symbol of social status? Cause to me only it only portrays a mindless customer. Plus, you're advertising someone's product without getting paid...what do you think?
To jacqui: hahaha, if the best part of your life is having a sandwich, then maybe you should just die? No wonder half of the nation is obese...Now, having fun with friends is other thing, but then why not taking pictures of you and your friends, rather than of a lonely cup of coffee? I think that's pathetic. But, thanks for your input

It's all about everyone wanting constant attention. Let's face it, we're becoming attention wh*res.

To be honest, though, if you have that much time on your hands to take pictures of what you're eating and what you're doing all the time--you have no life lol.

Agree! Especially when people post statuses 24/7 too, but that may just be me.. Smile I think it's crazy that people take random pictures of themselves and post them on social networking sites, and to all that it may offend, I am not saying this is wrong by all means, I am just expressing my opinion in reply. And to answer your other question they waste time doing it because they have nothing better to do...I think. Anyway, hope this helps.. Big Grin

Honestly, why should I care? If you had a totally awesome sandwich and want to rave about how good it is, good for you. It's not a status symbol. It's living in the moment. Getting the most out of what you enjoy and sharing it with your friends. Even if it is just a cup of coffee, if you enjoy it and want to share your joy, good for you. And by your logic, if advertising a product without getting paid is awful, then I guess giving a restaurant recommendation for free is wrong, as is telling your friend where your favorite café is.

I think it is absolutely terrible with some of these trends that are going on with today. Just like you said, twittering or telling everyone what you are doing, relying so much on electronics. People having to text message every second or just having to be on the cell phone. Driving while being on the cell phone constantly, it is so dangerous! Wearing cut up goth/emo type clothes and having crazy hair and colors with our kids today it is so outrageous! How bad people are these days, and the greed in the world. I wish it would change!
