Can't send or view messages on facebook?

I recently made a new account, and I haven't been able to receive, or send any messages at all.
It says "Unfortunately, we cannot currently access your messages. Please try again later. Click to send again.: on when I am on my computer and it says (#2) service temporarily unavailable on my iphone.
I'm wondering if there is anything I can do, I've tried filing complaints, restarting the browser, clearing the history, nothing works.

It is a server problem on Facebook's end. You will have to just wait it out.

check if you are not offline.go to your account and privacy settings.make sure you have access to sending msg.check for any restrictions.
log out and log back in.
try using a diffrent browser.

no biggie, facebook's just probably having its minor hiccups. just try again after a while.
