How would you go about convincing an overworked economist that using social media is a good idea?

This was a question that was posed to me and I'd be interested in receiving opinions on the matter. Thanks!

I'd look into how it could help them out =]

for example, maybe it would be a good break from all the work they have to do. Or a nice change.

Or, maybe they could use something like that to network and to contact new people to work for/with. Or to organise the ones they currently have in a way that they are more likely to appreciate and notice.

OR, you could convince them that because they are working too hard and boring, it's time to branch out and do something 'cool' so that people are more likely to enjoy their company =] Which of course could benefit them in the workplace because people will think they're a better person thus work better with them, and in their personal life, because they can make friends better Tongue
