How to change your profile picture without sending notifications to everyone on facebook?

I see that some of my friends have changed their profile pictures without me seeing a notification pop up on my iphone. How do you do that?

You shouldn't normally have a notification popping up when a friend changes their profile picture. The only way that could happen is if you have it set so that you get a notification for new updates by a specific person.

Basically, it's normal for friends to update or change profile photos without being notified.
