How do I tell my mom about my Instagram account?
So I have had an Instagram account since October and neither one of my parents knows. I really want to tell them so one of my friends or their parents don't spill the beans. How should I tell them? I think my mom is most concerned about my safety but I'm a private account and my profile picture has words over my eyes. I'm really stressed because I NEED to tell her tomorrow. PLEASE HELP!!!

First you should make sure your account is private, so it is hard to access. Your parents will most likely want to see your account and followers, so make sure you are just following friends or people you know. There is no easy way to tell this, except by just telling your parents up front. It shouldn't be a problem if your account has nothing bad to hide.
Best of luck to you

Instagram is not a bad thing. First off I would refer to it as a phone application and not a social website or anything like that which immediately conjures up ideas of chi-mos prowling for you in the minds of your parents. Just say hey I found this cool application on my phone where I can edit pictures of cool stuff I come across. Maybe even do a little demo with something in your house and show how you can use the features. Bottom line if you act like something is suspicious about it or you act nervous they're going to assume there's something wrong with it. I would even go as far as to show your mom your pictures you've uploaded so far or some cool things your friends have posted. Just emphasize that Instagram is very safe and focused on the pictures rather than individuals getting to know each other and communicating like other sites. They shouldn't be worried. =)
