If you sent someone you know, a message on facebook, but it was sent to their "other folder"?

If you sent someone you knew from some years ago, a message on facebook, but it went to their "other folder" and they may not have noticed it - as it wasn't sent to their message inbox on facebook.

Would it be worth, or alright to send that person a friend request?
(The person was once your neighbour some years ago, before they and their family moved, and there is some age difference between the two of you)

Yes, send them a friend's request, if they use facebook on their phone and not lapotop then they will have not seen your message.

What prevent you from sending the friend request?

If you have 'mutual friend', you can ask that friend to tell that long acquaintance to see the Other folder; or if you join the same group, you can tag that long acquaintance..
