Having a problem loading certain things using connectify?

So, i've been using connectify for a few weeks and one thing i found out is that i can load certain things like twitter and facebook on my iphone and when i tried instagram, nothing could be loaded. i can google something, but i cannot open the links that are given by google.

i am using this in my hostel in my university and i doubt it is because of the proxy server or what not blocking instagram or certain links because my friend used the same port i used and turned on his connectify and his instagram on his iphone could load as normal. is there something i'm not doing right or something i need to untick or tick somewhere?
