There should be a couple of free apps that are good for that.

Check old OldBooth, Photogene, Best Camera App, Comicfy, TiltShift, Night Camera and many more iPhone Applications - there are tons to try out.

I personally prefer Blux Camera. You do all the editing on screen before you take the photo. I think it's a lot easier, because you know exactly what you're going to get... no surprises. It's like $3, but it's really worth it. It doesn't let you do funny captions, but there's tilt shift, cool filters, and stuff like that. I especially like the Whiteboard and High Key Modes... really fun to play with. Instagram is also pretty cool, of course, but I'm assuming you know about that one. The photos don't come out as nice, but no matter which camera you use, the website is awesome for sharing photos.
