Avoid your picture on it. get any image from google / yahoo.

Seriously, you can get an amazing Facebook cover for only a few dollars here, http://fiverr.com/bbetrio3/design-a-prof...book-cover

I've used it and have gotten a very professional facebook cover for my page.
