How do Facebook and Twitter verify celebrity accounts, pages etc. ?

We are a group of students from India who are developing a educational website for college students and professors. But we don't want students registering as fake professors on our site (they are gonna try to to do that.).

So I started doing a little bit research, I searched on the Internet but found nothing.

idk about twitter, but facebook does not verify celebs account. I also seriously doubt that twitter does that too. Youtube on the other hand does verify celebs account for legal purpose. But all that thing is done personally, not online.
