Does facebook messaging have limits?

I was looking at old messages and It didn't took me to the very first message does the messaging have a limit or I have bad connection or they delete themselves

I know that there is a limit to the amount if text one can have on display there, it. might be a few pages. Anything written earlier may get deleted. I don't think Fb is meant for. continuous blogging or anything unless it links to other sites where you do this. It is mainly to tell people who you are and what you're about, and then you network with them apparently.
