What should I do to fix facebook messanger?

I have a Facebook messenger on my windows 7 computer and when ever I send a message, it says "failed to send" in red letters. I can still send messages directly from Facebook, but I use it to keep up with a friend and get distracted from my school when i go on Facebook to reply. i can still receive messages, but i cant send them, what should i do to fix this?

Check and See if There are Any Updates Available For Facebook Messenger if There Are Any install Them Other Than That Its a Error With The Program Please Contact Facebook at the Help Center and Report the Problem To Them
