What happens to pictures after you delete them?

What happens to pictures once you delete them from instagram? Like, if you accidentally post a really inappropriate picture, and leave it for a few weeks and then realise what you've done..if you delete it, will it be gone forever or will it be stored on the internet forever?

If you delete something i don't think it could be saved. But the internet could be different. Try to find some type of customer service.

Once a picture has been posted - no matter for how long, you can't know who has seen it, downloaded it, sent it to others, posted it somewhere else, etc. The second you post a picture, it's out of your control. After you delete it, it's gone from that site but.....

it will not be seen by public. but I think if you want to get it back, that is possible.
