facebook rescales my video, making it too big and causing poorer resolution - how do I fix this?

I have a small video from my phone I want to upload to facebook. However, I can't figure out how to keep the video size small - facebook automatically formats it to a larger size causing poorer resolution. There is lots of advice all over the web about resizing videos to make them smaller for facebook, but I couldn't find anything about how to keep the video small.

You can adjust the screen size and make it smaller. That simply requires manually adjusting the browser. If facebook automatically increases the size, just readjust your browser.

Another way is to use a simple video editor, like VidCrop.
