Unknown facebook notifications keep showing on my gmail.?

I keep getting facebook notifications on my gmail. Is it because I used to use this email for back up email (or whatever you call it when you make a yahoo account; then you have to provide an account from different email provider). I used it for few yahoo emails. So is it okay or I got scammed or hacked?

How do I adjust my email notifications from Facebook?

You can adjust what email notifications Facebook sends to you from your Notifications Settings:
Click the account menu at the top right of any Facebook page and choose Account Settings
From the left column menu, click Notifications
Go to Email and click Edit
Choose if you want to receive all notifications, important notifications or only notifications about your account
If you aren't getting email notifications, you may want to edit the emails you've chosen to receive or unsubscribe from.
