It means The person is using a computer and sending messages from the computer not a mobile

It means that you are sending the message from desktop/laptop computer. Using facebook in mobile or tablets, it will say "sent from mobile"

Everyone said it right, i just wanted to add though, when it says "sent from mobile" it was sent from a phone or tablet etc. Or if it says "sent from chat" then they're probably on there phone and have an app for facebook. Hope that covers everything. Lol.
