Facebook Custom Privacy Setting Question?

If I hide someone from seeing a Facebook status, will the right panel stalkerfeed show that our mutual friends liked or commented on it? (I'm planning a surprise trip to visit my mom and she and I have like two dozen mutual friends. I wanna tell everyone, but not if it runs the risk of her seeing.)

If you hide a post from someone, I don't think it will show on the side panel when people like or comment on it. You can also do a group inbox chat. your mom will definitely not see that.
