I am not getting chat or message notifications from only one of my friends ?

Why don't I receive notification when one particular friend sends me a message or comments on my photos or posts ?
I have to refresh the page during a chat with one specific person to see the new message . I can have other chats open and all refresh by themselves but with one person it shows him typing then nothing shows up until I refresh the page . Any suggestions ?? He is not marked spam and its already going to my inbox .
The problem is neither I receive notifications from her nor the messages from her in the chat box .
Please help me on this ! Its been a week I started facing this problem . Still can't figure it out . Help please !!

I believe it's Facebook glitch to which you can't do anything. Sorry...
