How to talk to a girl you don't know in facebook?

Hey, so I'm usually okay with girls and I usually meet them through friends and what not but I noticed this really good looking girl on facebook and I want to start a conversation with her. I normally don't use facebook but I don't know any other way to talk to her as she doesn't go to my school. I don't want to say something like hey your cute or whatever because girls get that all the time and she probably will ignore me if I say that. I need to ask her like a question or say something interesting so that she doesn't think I'm just another guy trying to get at her you know? I have confidence and all that so don't say I should man up or whatever, trust me I party with girls all the time and its no problem. The only problem is, like I said how do I get her to talk to me since I don't know her like at all or any of her friends. Thanks for any helpful responses.

Hi man why don't you just try saying hi to her and then be friendly to her and i'm sure you'll start up a good conversation confidence isn't an obstacle so yea just say hi and be nice.
