How to stop a person from commenting on my timeline w/o un-friending or blocking?
I have a friend who has been posting some harsh and inappropriate posts on my wall lately. He's going through some stuff in his life right now which is leading him to do that. I don't want to un-friend or block him because most of the time, he is good about his posting and he is my friend. Recently though, he's been taking posts too far and is not getting the message when I tell him that he needs to stop posting on my wall in the way that he is.

In the 2013 "privacy settings," under the "timeline and tagging" section, you have the ability to change 'who can post on your timeline' to either "friends" or "only me." However, setting that to "only me" stops all other friends from posting on my timeline also.

Is there a way that I can stop him specifically from posting on my timeline, while allowing other friends to continue to post, without blocking or un-friending him?

Add him to 'Restricted List' hover over the name, press add to another list and choose restricted list and he won't be able to see your posts, comment on them or post on your timeline and everything will be hidden to him w/o unfriend-ing him and you can cancel this option whenever you want

keep in mind that setting is only for him creating new posts on your timeline, and will not prevent people from commenting on posts that are already there

there is no way to just prevent him from commenting on anything that he can see, so you would just have to add him to your restricted list
