It all comes down to what kind of social media your looking at and what type of business your marketing.

Say your looking at Facebook and e.g. your a law firm, I would NOT recommend it.

It would create a perfect opportunity for an ex client that went wrong or better yet competition to leave a bad feedback and I guess in some way like eBay, when there is one bad feedback it will always stick.

I'm a fan of whirlpool forum and the things i see going on in there is amazing, competitors at each other trying to prove which company is better etc

It really depends how far your willing to use social medias
