Why does the Facebook App have less functions than the Facebook mobile site?

I have a BlackBerry and I've found the mobile site to have much more options and settings than the app. It makes sense, but I wish all the stuff on my profile from the site could be on the app as well. Is it the same with all other phones or just with BlackBerry?

I use a samsumg andriod device, yes the mobile site and the app are quite different, for example I can't save/download a picture using the app but I can do that using the mobile site, yet there are a few pluses as well with the app for example chatting is much easier using the app
there for, each has thier flaws, and the blame is on facebook eventually.. the app should contain everything
maybe you should send a report to favebook though I doubt it would make a diffrence.
