Why do people ignore me on Facebook all the time? ?
I really have a hard time grasping the point of social media like Facebook and Twitter. I have friends that I always leave comments to and like their statuses a lot of times.

Now, when I post a status update or upload a picture or YouTube video, I get nothing. And it is mostly art or strange but true news articles. I am not rude or anything and I do make people laugh so I don't get it.

If u are posting boring types of articles or unwanted things it may be the cause... otherwise just open a page on facebook.

maybe they dont find your posts interesting...

people on facebook dont really want to make other people look popular... they want to be popular

just because you like something or share something doesnt mean they will reciprocate

That's just how it goes. The reason we see comments on friends FB posts and we might think they're getting more than we are is because we see all the accumulated stuff from our feed. But I'll bet most every friend only gets about the same amount of comments as we do most of the time.

It sounds to me like you're posts are okay, as long as they are not virals already being "shared" reposted from friends of friends.

I only post original content as well, any links are to sites I've found on my own, and I post my own Youtube videos, nothing passed on to me by anyone else.

I rarely get comments, and I make the odd comment on other people's FB, but not all that often, and certainly not all of them.

But I am told offline when someone has seen my FB posts, so I know I'm not being ignored, they just don't have time or else can't think of something to say on FB to me about whatever I posted.

Some people post statuses that IMO aren't worth commenting on. You know, the kind where someone is trying to be cute or witty and just ends up not making sense to anyone who isn't living inside the poster's head. Or attention-hogs who are always posting about how their life sucks, how everybody's just crushing them all the time, or about the latest dumb little Zynga game victory they achieved by getting to the next level. Who - cares? And when they post this stuff a ridiculous amount of times a day, really! Like, was it really necessary to post ten minutes ago about how some doofus forgot to stop and say hi, then 5 minutes later, post that you can't decide what to watch on TV, then 3 minutes later, post a picture, a minute after that, post how tired you are and want to go to sleep? Sheesh! I'm not saying that you ourself are doing this, but I see people who do, and I just want to scream at them to get off freaking FB already. Status updates about personal life are fine, naturally, but not when somebody is so high-maintenance and demanding attention so that they post every few minutes throughout much of the day about all their little aches and pains and other really meaningless stuff that just doesn't inspire any conversation.
