I keep on getting an error message along the lines of : " Your account is unavailable due to site issues. Please try again in a few minutes."

Facebook has tens or hundreds of thousands of servers. It's very rare for them all to go down at once. Likely what happened is that the server your account is hosted on is undergoing maintenance, but most other people will still be able to access their accounts just fine because the other machines are untouched.

It's runnin' fine now. Sometimes Y/A has gliches too.
