How are facebook searches listed?

Ok so I type the letter L into the facebook search and instead it predicted one of my friends with the surname L and then after my friend whose name started with the letter L. After a week or so, it switches it around. Is it random?

I guess so, FB just try to search first among your friend with the letter 'L' at it found it first the first name, sometimes it found first the last name. You can't search by one letter only to get want you want.
