All it is is just a big popularity contest with random people posting dumb things about their boring lives that no one really cares about , not to mention a catalyst for buisnesses and other things to advertise whatever the fuck it is they are selling. if these people were your friends you'd communicate regularly and not over a website , until then you are loosely associated

Facebook was originally created to stay in touch with your friends and family. Yes, it has kind of exploded, but its main purpose still exists. I, personally, like Facebook a lot. You can keep in touch with those you care about most--even if you are unfortunately separated, like if someone moves away... yes, Facebook is great for many things.
