How do you know if someone blocked you on facebook or deleted their account?

When I search for the person does not show up but I look at our old messages and his picture is still there is it deleted or did he block me I search through all his friends and their name doesn't come up?

Sounds like he blocked you if they deactivated the account when you look at old messages it shouldn't show the pic and it will just say facebook user instead of their name it will also do that if you're blocked too though have a friend look them up if he pops up on there's then he blocked you if not then he deactivated his account
