Is the iPhone 4 still a good phone and worth buying?

I really want an iPhone and I'm not bothered about the latest one etc, I just want one of them. I'm thinking about getting the 4 because the model isn't too old and I don't think the 4S or 5 are worth all the extra money for only a small amount of difference. Is the iPhone 4 still a good phone and worth paying money for? Will it still work as well even though there are several newer models? And also what is the difference between the 4 and the 4S and is it worth all the extra money?

The iPhone 4 and 4S are basically the same phone, so don't bother buying the 4S. The iPhone 5 is also pretty pointless, unless you value the extra half inch long screen to be worth a few hundred ££s. Go for the 4!

I would get the 4S since you will probably have a 24 month contract and so most apps might not work when they bring out a new model in 2013 - plus the 4S is worth it -I have the 4 and i have had it 1 year now - and I want the 4S.

There is a significant difference between the 4 and 5 and 4 to 4s. It may not be the design but you would notice it if you had all three phones side by side. The 4 is slow and sluggish and the quality of pictures is poor in comparison. The 4 is not worth paying the same plans for. The difference in the processer is huge. You will feel everything load much faster and do everything faster. The camera is on par with cameras over 500 dollars. Internet speed is faster and safari is faster. The 4 will be phased out soon. Get the 4s at least it's worth it.

iPhone 4 is still a great phone.

Now, the iPhone 4 is free with a contract. And the iPhone 4s is only $99. Yes, the iPhone 5 is also out there, with a whole mess of features that you can read about on Connie Guglielmo’s live blog. But is it worth it?

Apple has built the largest company in the world off of an insatiable desire for the newest thing at any cost – “any cost” usually referring to somewhere in the $200-400 range. But every time it announces the next big thing, the last big thing gets way cheaper before being gradually phased out.

So if you can pry yourself away from the hype surrounding a slightly thinner, faster and lighter phone, you can appreciate the fact that Apple has a powerful, functional and good looking phone on the market right now. It makes phone calls, it plays Angry Birds, it takes clear pictures that you can muddy up with Instagram. And it’s cheaper than ever. If you need a phone, go buy it.

Think of it like TV – for me, a television show is often “new” when it arrives on one of the streaming services I use. Likewise, and Apple device becomes “new” when it becomes deeply discounted after a new announcement.

If you don't want to play the very latest games or browse the internet loads then the iphone 4 is a great phone still and loads better then some of the newer phones available.
Saying that though the 4S does have a much better camera if you like taking pictures then the 4s will be the better option but even then the iphone 4 still has a pretty decent camera.

yes.iphone 4s is awesome.and its better then the iphone 5.iphone 5 has still problems with the programs on there.

For the record the 4S & 5 are actually pretty different than the 4. Not small differences.

E.g. the longevity of iOS, the improved cameras, the speeds, the worldphone capabilities, the weight, the design, etc.

Anyway, yes the 4 is still a good phone. Yes it will still work since Apple still makes, sells & updates it.
