Does Obama support privatizing Social Security?
Our $13/per paycheck reduction in Social Security Taxes gives us the opportunity to "privatize" by placing that money into some savings/investment account. Granted, it's small - but it IS the opportunity to prove a point. I'm going to put mine in a money market account for now, and then invest when the market finally settles down.

So is this something Obama is figuring on? Or is it one of those "bright sides of a black hole" that I'm so prone to finding?

No, Reagan already destroyed 90% of the social security starving 9000 seniors and retirees to death.5 million were killed in the US alone due to unemployment.

Look at it this way of they would have put SS money in the stock market.

1. it may not have tanked.

2. If the value went down 40% there would still be 60% left instead of nothing left. The government spends the SS money that comes out of your check as soon as they get it.

3. The SS trust fund is nothing but IOU's

Believe me, you will lose more than that when other types of taxes go up... capital gains, property taxes, etc.

Not only taxes but inflation.... it's going to go though the roof if Obama keeps spending like this.... He'll give you $13 and take hundreds and most people will be too stupid to notice.

No, I don't think so anyway. Privatizing should be done by the individual, not the government. What I mean is, we still need to pay into social security to support our parents and grand-parents, but our generation should be looking for alternatives to save for retirement.

Either we pay into social security for our parents and grand-parents now, or we pay for their lifestyle and care out of our own pockets. I prefer my parents have some freedom and I have some privacy. What do you think?
