I am 21.Last night I received a call on my phone from him and i didnt answer it It is very rare for my dad to call me on my phone like when they knew i was with my partner and didnt want me seeing him back then and he hasnt done it in over two years. My mum has only just learnt to use a computer. What do I say to him?

Tell him you don't want to be friends with him. My god, you're 21 years old. He can't make you do anything thing anymore.

If you can't be open with him then forget about it.

Hey Hannah,

Is there a specific reason you don't want to talk to him? That might help determine what sort of response you should give him. Are there any more details you can share about your relationship with him?

I know that can sometimes be hard to do in writing, and that sometimes we just need someone to talk through things with us. If that is something you would be interested in, I actually happen to work for a non-profit that does a lot of work with families and they have some counselors on staff who would love to hear about what is going on and maybe provide some insight into how you might respond to your dad. You can connect with them through this link: http://bit.ly/14firiA.
