I want to send more friend requests?

Okay, so there are a ton of people I'd want to be friends with on Facebook. I just transferred to a new school. These people don't know my name entirely, but by my face they know me. I'm a coward when it comes to this. I'm always inches away from pressing 'Send Request', but I think "well these people don't talk to me as much as these so the latter won't accept and then I'll look like an idiot the next day in class". What should I do?

Do one or two per day and see what happened, but better not let the pending friends request you sent more than 3 days, cancel it, on the day-4 you sent the request.
