When your friend/ex restrict you on facebook?

hi there,
i am wondering if someone like one of your friends or may be your ex restricted you on facebook, whats good bout still leaving you in their friendlist on facebook for them?
they can not share any updates with you as long as you are on their restriction list, right?
i would definitely unfriend or block the person if i hate her/him, or if i think they are bothering me, In stead of just restricting them. A friend of mine who i dont keep in touch with anymore restricted me on facebook. She says she hates me and doesn't want to talk anymore. My ex did the same thing to me even tho i rarely saw his timeline and never leave any comments or likes. I have many friends who do the same thing to persons who they do not like. So was just wondering.....

I don't like to leave any ex-gfs or stalkers on my fb page, it causes more drama. There was this one girl who I had a one night stand with and blocked her because she would most likely keep looking at my page becoming more obsessed with me after it was over. There are no benefits from leaving them or your friends list.
