How do I use Hashtags?

I'm just a Noob to the online community, and have completely no idea on how to use them.

I fear I might end up looking like a troll if I used them with no idea how to use it. I have already been banned on Facebook since it was classified as abusing/insulting other members.

1. If you Tweet with a hashtag on a public account, anyone who does a search for that hashtag may find your Tweet.

2. Don't #spam #with #hashtags. Don't over-tag a single Tweet. (Best practices recommend using no more than 2 hashtags per Tweet.)

3.Use hashtags only on Tweets relevant to the topic.
