Should I message a girl on facebook?
There is a girl that pops up on my facebook newsfeed every so often. She is cute, and seems like we have very similar interests. We are facebook friends, but I do not know her at all. We have been friends on facebook for years. We went to the same college so maybe that's how it happened. I don't think she knows me at all. The only facebook interaction we've ever had is she liked one of my pictures I took. I'm pretty certain she is single. We still live near each other, not far from where the college we attended is. I would like to get to know her more. We are both in our mid 20s. I was wondering if it would be weird if i sent her a simple message on facebook, that could eventually lead to hanging out. If so, what should the message say? I'd like input from girls. What would you want a guy to say to you that doesn't come off as creepy/stalkerish. The only thing I have going for me is I think she ran cross country at a rival high school years back. I ran in college, she did not. I noticed her wearing a cross country shirt in one of her pictures once. I don't want to comment on that picture, because that was a good while back. Thanks.

You could start with a simple hi or hello. There's no harm in trying. You could try commenting a nice compliment a picture of her that shows a subject that both of you are interested in. This is the nicest way you can start something going.

I too like to try that on a girl whom I friended on Facebook. We attended the same highschool but never knew each other because I'm almost 4 years older than her but I'm scared because I noticed that she wasn't the kind of person that would easily engage on Facebook chat with strangers. As of now, I could only dream of meeting her or even talking to her Sad
